Fishes plays a very important role in the employment, national economic development, providing nutrition and earning foreign currency. The importance of fish farming is for im-proving nutrition condition, increasing employment, earning foreign currency and improving socioeconomic condition etc. The development of fishery technologies supports food sustaina-bility to achieve a steady supply of fish and fishery products. However, the priorities for re-search and development (R&D) in fishery technologies vary by region because of differences in fish resources availability, environmental issues, and consumer preferences for fishery prod-ucts. Small-scale fisheries and aquaculture make critical contributions to development in the areas of employment, with over 41 million people worldwide, the vast majority of whom live in developing countries, working in fish production; food security and nutrition, with fish con-stituting an important source of nutrients for the poor and often being the cheapest form of animal protein; and trade, with a third of fishery commodity production in developing coun-tries destined for export.
