GUTIEREZ, JOHN KELLY P., PARDUCHO, ROSEMARIE N., ROJALES, MARISTEL T. AND ROJALES, RAISA T. Development of Electronic Dress Up. A Project Design. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. The development of Electronic Dress-up started from July 2013 to January 2014 at Cavite, Philippines. Specifically, it aims to: 1. plan the device through identifying the functions and limitations of mannequins in fashion industry and sales profit, 2. analyze the functions and limitations of mannequins to create a modern way of presenting outfits, 3. design the device’s structure that will satisfy all documented requirements by constructing an electrically powered cabinet of mannequins and identifying all necessary inputs, outputs and processes, and 4. implement, test and evaluate the device prototype.

To gather further information about the hardware, the researchers have visited different universities in Manila that will provide details on how to initiate the prototype.

The researchers started to find welding shop to build the Mannequin’s stand. After that, they started to buy components such as Gizduino+644 Microcontroller unit, power supply and wiper motor Mache at E-Gizmo store in Manila. They bought a piece of mannequin that will be used to duplicate for the paper Mache. The initial objective of the researcher was to observe the connection of wiper motor and the Microcontroller unit to be used for the movement of the paper Mache on its stand. It was a failure trial that caused to blow the microcontroller because it cannot control the wiper motor without the use of relay card to drive the motor. Then, buy a new pair of microcontroller, wiper motor and a relay board needed. The second trial made were success and runs smoothly until the researcher achieved the requirements of their hardware.

The Electronic Dress Up was generally evaluated as excellent meaning that the objectives are met and it can be use to show different combinations of outfits even without physically fitting.

Assessment of pathways for the development of Electronic Dress Up: It is not recommended for mixing of clothes according to gender and sizes. It is not fit for long dresses. Previous combinations chosen by the customers are not automatically cleared. Automatic combination using labels can be chosen by the users.
