<a href="GARCIA, ROEL B., SAN ANTONIO, ARLENE M. Reed Switch-based Brushless DC Motor, Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Mr. Jerickson C. Bautista Technical Critic: Mr. Jurick P. Paulino.

The study was conducted from August 2018 to March 2019 to develop a reed switch-based brushless DC motor. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design and develop a laboratory scaled reed switch-based brushless DC motor; and 2) test and evaluate the device in terms of number of reed switch, number of poles, position of reed switch, power consumption, speed, torque and efficiency. The brushless motor was constructed with a reed switch which serves as the switching device that turns on and off whenever it sense magnetic field to produce current to the coil. A power supply was used to supply voltage to the circuit and buck converter to regulate the voltage coming from the power supply. The brushless motor includes a fiber casing which serves as the body of the motor, bolts and nuts are used to interlock the motor body to the cover; and a polyvinylchloride rotor and shafting is used to hold the neodymium magnets which produces magnetic field for the reed switch. The results of the evaluation revealed that the reed switch-based brushless DC motor is feasible and reliable. The data collected by the proximity sensor for measuring the speed and the digital volt/ammeter are reliable and can be effectively used by the operator in testing the system.
