Summary, etc. <a href="FRANCO JOYSHA MARIE, REYES GLAIZA I., Flood Detection and Notification Device with Branch Circuit Cut-Off Capability. Design Project. Department of Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades, Rosario, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Engr. Harvey T. Crisostomo. Technical Critic: Mr. Jurick P. Paulino.

The study was constructed from May 2017 to March 2018. It was evaluated last March 26, 2018. This study was made for the improvement of flood detection and notification device with branch circuit cut-off capability. Specifically, this study aimed to: 1.) improve the design and construction of flood detection and notification device by providing a backup power supply, use of relays instead of contactors, sending of SMS to the user and barangay official instead of municipal host only and providing safety after flood by locking the float switches when triggered; 2.) evaluate the technical performance of the device in terms of: system response when float switch was triggered, status of received messages when float switch was triggered, time delay of system response when the electricity was supplied again to the system, and functionality, construction, realizability, impact, and presentation; and 3.) conduct cost analysis to evaluate the economic value of the study. The simulation of flood was done in 20.32 x 20.32 x 40.64 cm acrylic tank. Correct system response and correct received messages was 10 out of 10 trials. Computed mean of time delay when the electricity was supplied back is 1. 96 seconds. The mean for functionality: satisfaction, 4.90, ease of use, 4.80, reusability, 4.83 construction: structuring, 4.73, inventivity, 4.77, convincingness, 4.80 realizability: technical realizability, 4.77, economical realizability, 4.80 impact: social impact, 4.77 risks, 4.70 presentation: completeness, 4.70, and correctness, 4.73. The results showed that the design project was excellent in all aspects of the assessment.
