Marquez. <br/><br/>The study was conducted from August 2018 to April 2019 to develop a dye­-sensitized solar cells sensitized with natural dye from local plant sources. Specifically, the project aims to design and construct solar cells using a 25mm x 25mm conductive glass; apply natural dye extracted from indigenous sources which include Alugbati (Basella Alba) fruits, Talisay Leaves (dried and fresh), and spent coffee grounds; and describe the performance of the dye-sensitized solar cells in terms of open circuit voltage and maximum voltage, short circuit current, maximum current, fill factor, and efficiency. The performance of DSSCs were compared in terms of the open circuit potential and current output in close circuit conditions. The one-way analysis of variance showed statistically significant difference among the groups in terms of voltage and current. The Tamhane T2 post-hoc test revealed that the performance of the DSSCs vary significantly with each other wherein the dried talisay leaves extract yield the highest voltage.
