Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades, Rosario, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Mr. Jurick P. Paulino and Technical Critic: Mr. Deo Paulo M. Bicua. The study was conducted from December 2018 to May 2019. The prototype was entitled “Packed-Down Power Inverter”. It is a power back up when electric shortage occur. It is a 20000 mah capacity that uses an inverter circuit to transform the 12V DC supply to 220V AC. The battery is a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4). The prototype uses a protection like fuses in the battery to protect the batteries from short circuits. Also it uses Battery Management System (BMS) to protect the batteries from over voltage, overcurrent and short circuit. Lastly, it uses a programmable IC (PIC) to program the 60Hz frequency as well as the wave of the system. •Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) - also called LFP battery is a type of rechargeable battery, specially a lithium-ion battery. • Battery Management System (BMS) - is an electronic system that manages a rechargeable battery such as by protecting area, monitoring its state, calculating secondary data, reporting that data, controlling its environment, or balancing it. • Inverter use to change Direct Current to Alternating Current. • PIC-a microcontroller made by Microchip Technology. • Frequency number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit of time.
