Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Engr. John Robert G. Briones. Technical Critic: Janice D. Marquez The study was conducted from August 2017 to April 20 I 8 to create a power supply that can sense and give and visual indication if the electronic device or circuit to be supplied has a short circuit connection and a component tester. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design and construct a variable DC power supply that can detect and sense if the circuit to be supplied has a short circuit connection; 2) evaluate its performance un terms of: output voltage of the variable DC power supply; response of the device to short circuit connection; response of the device in testing component status; response of the polarity checker for external DC source; and 3) conduct a cost analysis. The prototype was constructed with different parts which includes the 0-30 VDC 0.002-3A power supply with current limit and digital display, short circuit indicator and transistor tester having red and green LED as an indicator, component tester which includes the component tester with a bicolor LED and lastly the polarity checker ,with two red LED as an indicator. LEDs behavior gives visual indication corresponds to the status of a certain circuit or electronic component to be test. Testing and evaluation was conducted in each feature including the responses of each pan of the system. Arithmetic mean was used to analyze the data derived from the three trials of testing while the responses of the indicators was compare with the actual state of the component under test.
