JR., and RIL, ANGELBERT C. Merry-Go-Round Electricity Generator for Battery Charging Application. Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Mr. Jerickson C. Bautista. Technical critic. Engr. Dexter S. Ramos. The study entitled was conducted from December 2018 to May 2019 to develop the merry go-round electricity generator that can harvest electricity from the conversion of mechanical energy to electrical energy for battery charging application. Specifically, the study aimed to design and construct a new energy generation system with practical application for the rural areas where energy is not available; evaluate the performance of merry-go-round as a generator in terms of output voltage and charging time of the battery; and assess the economic feasibility of the technology. The system focused on utilizing human mechanical energy as renewable resource. It is generally for use by children for playing in parks and playgrounds to produce electricity. The generator converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy, thus, producing electricity. The results of the test proved that human power can be harvested to generate electricity and the relationship between speed (in rpm) and voltage is directly proportional. A higher speed generates higher voltage output.
