This study was conducted from August 2017 to April 2018 at Cavite State University CCAT- Campus in Stationary Marine Technology Building to develop and evaluate the gun riveter extension. Specially the study aim to: 1.) design the gun riveter extension; 2.) To develop/construct the Gun riveter extension with additional adjustable handle and used for horizontal and vertical position of riveting process; 3.) Evaluate the capabilities of the gun riveter extension in terms of capabilities; a.) speed of riveting system and gun riveter tool to riveting sheet metal in high areas according the with size of rivet, b.) functionality c.) Economy d.) Durability e.) Instructional applicability f.) Safety 4.)And conduct a cost analysis for the Gun Riveter Extension. The cost of the prototype was PHP. 22,030.00. This project was composed of the following major parts gun riveter, cable wire, actuator secondary trigger,, screw, pipe, trigger in extended handle and trigger in gun .The Gun riveter is a type of tool used to drive rivets. Those rivet guns used to drive rivets in structural steel are quite large while those used in aircraft assembly are easily held in one hand. Pipe is the extended part that was designed especially to be grasped by hand to easily rivet the high placed. The trigger is a small device that releases a spring or catch and so sets off a mechanism, especially in order to fire gun riveter. Secondary trigger is the trigger in the extended handle were the actuator connects to in secondary trigger to press the primary trigger or trigger of gun riveter by using cable wire. Based on the result of the study, the following conclusions were made: Gathered data between the traditional way of riveting in high area and the prototype for riveting metals in high area explained that the gun riveter extension was faster to use of Gun riveter extension than the traditional method. The evaluation of the prototype revealed that gun riveter extension is faster than the traditional in terms of speed and functionality, economy, durability, instructional applicability and safety overall, all the evaluation indicators obtained a “Very Acceptable” descriptive rating. The gun riveter extension can produce a greater number of blind rivets while traditional riveter produces few blind rivets in terms of speed. For further development of the prototype, the gun riveter should have a light in the upper area for dark high area use. And the extension of gun riveter should have a rubber handle to prevent hand slipping.
