As the rapid spread of COVID-19 pandemic arises it brought significant changes on the health and economy sectors Businesses are at risks in facing numerous challenges on making adjustments to the new normal The aim of this study is to determine the entrepreneurial challenges and coping mechanisms of hardware store in Tanza, Cavite. It also determined the perceived effectiveness of the different coping mechanisms in addressing the impact. The used of primary and secondary data were utilized in the study. Through the use of online questionnaire distributed via Google Form the researchers gathered data. As a results, the challenges encountered in different aspects are as follows: implementation of lockdown exit strategy, keeping up with the market, increasing market competitors, problems in terms of sales and financial reporting and regulatory compliance, and problems on employee's health. It also implied the address coping mechanisms in different aspects which are as follows sticking on business plan while following the lATF regulations, adaptation of new strategy in terms of sales, provide insights on rising costs of raw materials that trigger an increase in the cost of goods, following the IATF regulations about social distancing and adaptation of management leadership. The study concluded that hardware store owners faced key challenges in different aspects as well as the coping mechanisms they utilized to addressed business problems. Furthermore, the perceived effectiveness of the coping mechanisms to address the different challenges was highly effective. This study recommended business strategies in dealing with the effect of COVID-19.
