The study was conducted from September to January 2014 to determine the effectiveness of Facebook as advertising medium for catering business in Bacoor, Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to determine the profile of food catering service establishments in Bacoor, Cavite in terms of forms of organization, length of existence, and number of branch. Also, to determine the existing marketing and promotional tools of catering business, to determine the effectiveness of Facebook as an advertising medium in terms of profitability and marketability of the food catering business, to identify the level of exposure of food catering business in the social networking sites, to determine how much budget does the business allocate for advertising activities such as the media cost and finally, to determine the impact of different attributes of the online advertisement of food catering service establishments to the customers in Bacoor, Cavite. The data was collected through two types of survey questionnaires. The first type of survey questionnaire was distributed personally to 20 catering businesses in Bacoor, Cavite. And the second type of survey questionnaire was prepared to determine the impact of Facebook advertisements to the customers in Bacoor. The data were analyzed, tabulated and interpreted using the frequency and percentage distribution to determine the effectiveness of Facebook as an advertising medium for catering business in Bacoor, Cavite. The research found that different advertising mediums are used by catering businesses. Based on their assessment of the effectiveness of Facebook in advertising their business in terms of sales, cost, profit, and return of investments, they rated it as 3 which indicate Good. On the other hand, the customer survey also agrees with these results. However, majority of the respondents chose Conventional medium (TV, newspaper, radio, print ads, etc) as more effective tool in advertising their product/services than social networking sites (Facebook). In general, the research found that the effectiveness of Facebook as advertising medium for catering business in Bacoor, Cavite is just on the average level. Although social networking advertising today is a useful tool in promoting a certain product, it is not enough to use it to advertise a catering business because service is the nature of these businesses that's why people are more particular with the quality of the food or the service of those catering businesses.
