ANTINIOLOS, JETHRON C., QUEMUEL, JASPER JUN M. Portable Function Signal Generator using Direct Digital Synthesizer. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Dexter S. Ramos. Technical critic: Engr. John Michael A. Dharma.

The study generally aimed to construct a portable function signal generator using direct digital synthesizer which is mainly used in test and evaluate the performance of the system through the following parameters: (I) different waveforms generated from the
device; (2) stability of the generated signal with respect to its input frequencies; and (3) stability of the generated signal with respect to its input loads. The study was conducted from December 2018 to May 2019 at Cavite State University- CCAT Campus, Rosario Cavite.

The system was 100 percent operational in design functions and features. The researchers tested the design project by gathering its data and listing its information in tubular form.

The frequency was varied from 1 Hz to 8 MHz and found that starting from 65.5 kHz the waveforms became distorted, making it unusable. The load capacity was also tested by connecting n 89.1-kohm resistor across the output terminals of the device with a 5 V peak voltage. The current capacity resulted to 2.94 mA, drawing larger current than this value will make the signal waveform distorted. Cost analysis was conducted by comparing the existing device on the market and the device in this study. The device in this study was found to be cheaper by more than 20 thousand pesos but with few functionalities removed, while still usable for basic and troubleshooting purposes. The study costs P4,940.00.
