The study was conducted from August 2017 to May 2018 at Cavite StateUniversity Rosario Campus in Covered Court to develop and evaluate the Dual Power Source for the Public Address Sound System. Especially these studies aimed to 1) design the dual power source for public address sound system. 2) construct the dual power source for public address sound system from supply and materials available in the local market. 3) evaluate the performance of dual power source for public address sound system in terms of time of charging the battery and time of discharging the battery; and.4) conduct a cost analysis for the dual power source for public address sound system.

The prototype was developed with four major parts; power supply, battery, capacitor and inverter. The 50 A power supply requires an input of a 220 VAC and has an output ofa 12 VDC, which is use to charge the batteries. The batteries are 6XFMJ with 12 V and 150 Ah, one of the battery supplies power to the amplifiers while the other one supplies power to the inverter for mixer, equalizer and feedback eliminator. The capacitor is used to filter; it also has a digital indicator that indicates the voltage of the battery which is connected to the amplifier. The inverter is the opposite of converter, it is used to invert the supply voltage from 12 VDC to 220 VAC, it is where the mixer,equalizer and feedback eliminator was plugged-in.

The maximum time of operation of the dual power source for public address sound system with good quality of sound produce was 9 hours with battery voltage of 12.31 VDC for the inverter and 11.00 VDC for the amplifier. The output voltage of the battery of the inverter was higher as compared to amplifier because the power rating of the load of the inverter such as mixer, equalizer and lesser feedback was lower as compared to the power rating of the amplifier.

The charging of the battery of the inverter and amplifier without load with initial voltage of 12.41 VDC in the inverter and 11.50 VDC in the amplifier. From the start of charging the two battery was charge in the same time and the battery of the inverter was fully charge from 8 hours of charging because of its higher initial voltage as compare to the battery of the amplifier was full charge from 12 hours of charging because of its lower initial voltage.

The total cost of the prototype was Php 61,748.89
