This project was named "Flip Wrap Your Veggie Fab-Burritos", a business engaged in establishing, producing, and marketing burritos. Flip Wrap is the Filipino intake/version of the popular Mexican food called Burrito. Instead of using the traditional plain tortilla wrap. flip wrap used a specially formulated tortilla wrapper with a healthy twist by using different kinds of vegetables as an additional ingredient to the basic tortilla bread mixture. What makes it very Filipino is that the vegetables used are those mainly seen on the ever famous vegetable dish pinakbet; malunggay, squash and eggplant. It was conducted at Cavite State University Rosario-Campus from November 28,2012 to January 24,2013 from 9am to 5pm. The proponents were Jelleen M. Ysulan, Pauline Paras and Mildred T. Fiedacan. The entrepreneurs contributed equally and fairly to raised and produced the initial capital of P30,000.00. The proponents performed different duties and responsibilities throughout the business operation. Through this project, the proponents were able to apply and enhance their management, marketing and entrepreneurial skills that enable them to manage small-scale business in an actual business scenario.
The income statement of the business for 6 weeks which total to 21 days of operation ended in January 24, 2013 indicates total sales of Php.29, 775.00 and net income of Php. 14, 538.80. The cash flow statement of Flip Wrap discloses cash inflow of Php.59, 775.00 and an ending cash balance of Php.14, 988.80.
The production process involves the purchasing of raw materials, preparation of all the ingredients for tortilla wrap and fillings, production of tortilla wraps and cooking for fillings, assembling, heating, packaging and marketing. Flip Wrap was sold to the students, faculty members and other university staff of Cavite State University Rosario- Campus. The term of sales was on a cash basis.
During the entire operation, the business encountered some problems that enable the proponents to use all their knowledge and skills to solve all the problems they've encountered and used critical thinking in making important decisions regarding the business,
The entrepreneurs learned that in a business it is not the profit that matters most, as a marketing student they've learned that having a good product and service are the factors that contributes to a business success. If a business offers a good product and service, customers' satisfaction will be delivered and soon customer loyalty will be built and profits will just flow boundlessly and just like a domino effect everything else will follow.
The proponents realized the importance of having a concrete idea of what the business should be. You need to have specific plans in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the business. You also need to be a team player when you're in a business because you need to establish a good relationship with the people you work with to be able to carry out the desired business objectives.
