Applied Research IV, Science Education Laboratory School, Cavite State University-Rosario Campus 2014,. Ms. Ruth Angeli L. Burton. The research study entitled, Selected Fruit Peelings as an Alternative Hydroponic Solution in the Growth of Lettuce (Lactuca Sativa) Plants using Circulating Hydroponic System was conducted at Bunga, Tanza, Cavite from August 2014 until February 2015. This study was focused mainly in identifying the nutrients produced by the selected fruit peelings and using the selected fruit peelings as an alternative hydroponic solution in the growth of lettuce plants. The study aimed to develop an alternative hydroponic solution out of the given fruit peelings that would be effective in the growth of lettuce that will cost a lower price than the commercial hydroponic solution. This study used the experimental method and T-test to compare the two treatments with twelve replications per treatment. The first treatment was lettuce seedlings with commercial hydroponic solutions. The second treatment was lettuce seedlings with the alternative hydroponic solution made. Data gathering was done in four weeks. After the experiment and the data gathering, the finding of the study shows that the selected fruit peelings could be an alternative hydroponic solution in the growth of lettuce plants. Though, commercial hydroponic solution is more efficient in growing the lettuce plants. Statistically, there was no significant difference between T₁ and T2 in terms of plant height. Hence, there is statistically significant difference between T1 and T2 in terms of number of leaves, actual weight and dry weight.
