520 _aGABION, EMMANUEL, ROSCO, DARRYL LOUIS M., ABASOLO, NOELYN P., REGALADO, CAROLINE R., TORRES, NESLIE R., Development of High School Student Information System of Cavite State University Rosario Campus, Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Cavite State University Rosario Campus, Rosario, Cavite, March 2012. Adviser: Mr. Christopher G. Estonilo This study's objective was to computerize the current high school information system. Researches such as interviews and surveys proved that the current system is bulky and prone to error. Results indicate that the faculty relies on manual process of enrolment, bulky hardcopies and spreadsheets. As the record increases, more time is needed for encoding, archiving, computing and tallying. Records are more prone to errors. Record retrieving requires lot of time as files are searched by rifling through folders by hand. With the requirement becoming daily more crucial, the team was instructed to integrate the existing manual system into the proposed computerized system. This means that when a transaction is inputed on the computer, it is recorded in a number of different student records at the same time such as Transcript of records, student report cards and Form137s. Input screens should have been designed for ease of use. Each transaction needs only to be inputed once, unlike a manual double entry system where two or three entries are required. Printing documents should be done automatically. The data from different instructors should be instantly available and can be made available to different admin faculties at the same time. A software program that would lessen the work load of High school faculty in the admission, a centralized database to organize student registry and improved spreadsheet software specially designed for class records is a necessity. The use of a computerized High school information system would address this problem. The team determined how the proposed output should help solve the problems in system identification. System analysis involves analyzing gathered data and planning the system's content and features. Design of the system is given attention on system designing for it to have a simple and user friendly interface. The system development is based from the summarized data to be able to attain the desired objectives. System evaluation pertains to the assessment of the final output where usability and reliability of the system will be tested. The above discussion has evaluated the high school information system. Through this system the faculty has more time spent to other responsibilities thus improving the existing manual system.
